Connections 01.19.11

Philippians 1:20-21 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. ~ Thank you Ellen for loving me "More than I know" You were a joy to my life. See you soon!

Jesus Cards

In an effort to carry the name of Jesus, Babbs, Curly and I decided to create comething called "Jesus Cards" Please pray for the cards, the people that will recieve them, and for our boldness as we proclaim the wonderful name of Jesus! I hope and pray that each one of the cards will impact a person in a special and personal way. God is good! Seriously. All the time.

Connection 01.05.11

Philippians 2:14-15 : "Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world."
To spark the creative side of my brain, I have decided to weekly capture a picture that is parallel to a verse out of the Bible. The title of this project may change, since "Connections" isn't all that creative...but whatever the name, I hope you enjoy!

Wow. God.

Passion has come and gone and with it many things in my life have changed. I could write about everything; large and small that my God taught me in the four days I spent in Atlata, GA. Instead, I want to tell you of the glorious God that I serve. Jesus Christ whom I love and the Holy Spirit who has changed my life. I guess I have always known of the greatness of God and the life changing message of Christ -- sure I've been convicted here and there, but the magnificence and power that I experienced during Passion 2011 was more than just a religion that we are expected to follow. My God is great! He is huge and He is the creator. His love for us and unendeing compassion caused Him to send His Son Jesus Christ. Just think about it. We who were still chained to sin, we who had nothing to offer, we who had absolutely no hope -- and then boom, God gave us the free opportunity to become (literally transformed) the righteousness of Jesus Christ!!! Right there is enough to make me dance and sing and laugh, just knowing that a supernatural being greater than anyone's imagination truely loves me as His child. So I guess all I can say is: Wow. God.

My dad hired me to take pictures for the 2011 Tri-State calendar. What fun trying to take pictures with two other photographers there ;)

I walked into my room, after a very long day and much to my delight there sat on my bed a letter from my sister! Yes a letter from Tasha, the very thing (besides Jesus :) that can brighten my day even after, well you know, a not so bright day. Anyway, as I began to read I knew from the start that this was no ordinary note. There were no pictures, no color…….. As I read she asked me many questions that I am even now pondering.
· What has God been teaching you?
· Do people look at you and see Christ?
· Why are we even here?
· For what purpose?
· What do you want to do with your life?
· How can God use us?
· What really matters?
So many times I find myself “going through the motions”, living one week at a time, too lazy to let God teach me, not really caring about what I accomplish or who I impact, not even thinking about a purpose, going with the flow, doing the bare minimum just to win the approval of men, wanting God to use me, but then so busy with my own agenda that I miss my opportunity, not even caring what really matters – just as long as I don’t get hurt.
When I first read the letter, in my brain I began to spout out verses to answer these questions, but then I stopped myself. What good are the verses if we don’t go out and apply them? We know what’s there; we know what God wants from us, the question is when will we start?

Revelation 3:15-16 ~ “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
